We're looking for a Senior Shopify Developer to join us on a 6-month contract, working on a large-scale Shopify build with several third-party system integrations. Read on to find out more about the role and the candidate we're looking for.

About the role

These are some of the key outputs of the role:

  • Build and customise Shopify (Plus) storefronts using Liquid, HTML, CSS and JavaScript

  • Develop and maintain custom Shopify apps and theme features

  • Integrate Shopify with third-party systems via REST and GraphQL APIs, webhooks, and middleware (e.g. CRM, ERP, forms, and data sync tools)

  • Design and troubleshoot data flows between Shopify and connected platforms, including field mapping and sync logic

  • Collaborate with designers, consultants, and project managers to translate discovery findings into technical solutions

  • Optimise storefront performance, page speed, and checkout flow

  • Contribute to technical planning during discovery and design sprint phases

  • Produce clean, well-documented code and participate in code review

  • Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Our Ideal Candidate has the following skills and experience:

Essential

  • 5+ years of development experience

  • 2+ years of experience as a Shopify developer

  • Proven experience integrating Shopify with external systems (CRM, ERP, booking, forms, or similar) via API or webhook

  • Familiarity with popular Shopify apps

  • Strong command of Liquid, TypeScript, HTML and CSS

  • Experience building and maintaining custom Shopify apps

  • Comfortable troubleshooting integration issues and data sync logic across platforms

  • Solid understanding of Shopify's checkout, cart, and customer account limitations, and how to design around them

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work directly with consultants and clients

  • Available to start on short notice for a 6-month contract

Qualifications

  • A strong portfolio of live Shopify builds will be considered in place of formal qualifications
